In a large bowl mix the butter, sugar and water. Mix until the butter is blended well. One by one mix in the eggs until it is kind of a foamy mixture. In a separate bowl mix the flour and the baking powder together. Add the dry mix to the wet little by little as you mix making sure you scrape the bottom of the bowl so that everything is mixed well.
Break the sliced almonds with your fingers and sprinkle over the batter. Add the berries. Slowly fold the almonds and berries in the batter. Put the mixture in a 9×5 greased loaf pan. Set aside.
Mash the 1/2 cup of mixed berries and add the tbsp of sugar and lemon juice, mix. Spread this over the top of the batter. Place in oven at 325* if you are using a metal pan, 350* for a glass pan. Bake for 50 minutes, or until golden brown. Enjoy!
