Instructions
  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together.
  2. Add the butter flavored shortening. Mix well until it is a bit crumbly.
  3. Add the sour cream, then slowly add the milk a little at a time as you are mixing the dough. Knead it until it no longer sticks to your hands.
  4. Put it in a ziplock bag and allow the dough to rest for minimum 20 minutes.
  5. Pre-heat the griddle to 300* or if you are cooking stove top about medium or medium/high.
  6. You can use a scoop to scoop out the dough. Roll into balls, and then flatten between your palms. If you would like, you can also roll the dough out to about a 1/4 inch and cut out circles with a biscuit cutter or a cup.
  7. You will flip them a total of 2 times. Allow the one side to cook for about 4 minutes. Flip, and let the other side cook for about 6 minutes. Flip once more and allow to cook 2 more minutes. * You may need to play with this a bit depending on the thickness of your gorditas, and every stove and griddle does not cook the same. Enjoy!
