“Play is the highest form of research.” – Albert Einstein

I LOVE working with young children. They are so open to being taught, are non-judgmental and are so loving. Many years ago as I worked on my degree in Professional Preschool Education I learned the importance of learning through play.  We always made time in our curriculum for play. In fact, the majority of the lesson plan involved play.  We made sure to have dramatic play, science, math, reading, manipulatives, and music based on the theme for the day in each lesson plan.

Not only does play make learning fun but it helps children develop skills in language (oral language skills and storytelling are the building blocks of reading and writing, as well as subjects like social studies and science), logic and experimentation, and social skills (when playing together). I felt this importance for play so much that when I opened a preschool in my home years later, I made sure to use this same form of teaching.   hideouts4

I recently learned about these fun card table forts called Hideouts that create a learning atmosphere, allowing children to develop skills through play.  A Hideout is a fort that slips over a card table for easy set-up and is a home base for adventure. Created with a puppet backdrop on one side and on top, an aerial view map that’s also a play mat. Hideouts are incredibly versatile, giving kids endless opportunities for creative and imagination inspired play. hidouts1

Hide-a-boo Hideouts are here to encourage play for all kids.

Included with the Hideouts are printables called Teachables. They give busy parents on the go, a built in and pre-planned way to encourage play and learning. hideouts5

If you would like to get a Hideout for only $29 you must act quickly as it is only for a limited time on Kickstarter, and after July 14th they will not be available at the price any longer.

These look like such fun, and to have printables along with it? Awesome!! Although I no longer have a preschool in my home I am so excited to add one of these to my children’s adventures in play.

SEE THE HAPPY!
