Being the middle child often gets bad raps, but I have seen many rewards from being the middle child of 7, and one of those rewards is this Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza. My sisters are 8 and 6 years older than me, and were living on their own and cooking for their families a lot sooner than me. Their trial and error has saved me time in discovering yummy dishes. This pizza is one of our family favorites, and I appreciate Meg sharing this one with me, we tried it once and my family raved about it – I LOVE recipes like that! Like a lot of people, I tend to tweak things slightly to make it my own and that’s what I have done with this delicious pizza.

You will start off with this 4 Ingredient Pizza Dough I shared last week. It really is super easy and it only has to rise for 30 minutes – I love quick recipes that taste as amazing as this dough does!
These are our go to ingredients for the Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza. After I have set my dough to rise for 30 minutes, I prep the toppings. I use 2 chicken breasts, slice them in bite size pieces and fry them up in some coconut oil. While that is cooking I cut up my red pepper and dice my red onion. Mix up the olive oil and the minced garlic so its ready to spread on the dough. I love using the already cooked bacon bits from Oscar Mayer – saves me so much time and tastes so good! We are a couple of ranch snobs – we prefer Hidden Valley Ranch or BYU Creamery ranch with this pizza or on our salads 🙂
Once you follow the Pizza Dough recipe you will “paint” on the olive oil and minced garlic all over the dough – crust and middle. Here is a Pastry Brush similar to mine, something I love having in the kitchen!
Next you will brush the ranch dressing on ONLY the middle of the pizza, not the crust.
Add your cooked, diced chicken.
We then sprinkle on the veggies and bacon. My kids are not huge fans of the onions, so its nice to be able to do half the pizza our way, and half their way so everyone is happy 🙂
I always sprinkle the cheese over the top last. I tend to do a little on the edges of the crust, it makes it just a bit more delicious with the crunchy baked cheese.
Bake it for 11-12 minutes or until the crust begins to look golden. Allow to cool a bit before serving.
Pair it with a delicious green salad, add some dipping sauce if you like, and everyone in the family will be wearing a smile 🙂
What are some of your favorite pizza toppings?
See the Happy!
- 2 chicken breasts Slice in bite size pieces and fry in about 1 tbs of coconut oil on medium heat.
- 1 tbs coconut oil or cooking oil of your choice
- 1/8 c olive oil
- 1 tbs minced garlic
- 1/4 c ranch dressing
- 1 red pepper chopped
- 1/4 c red onion chopped
- 1/2 c bacon peices I used Oscar Mayer bacon pieces found near the salad dressings at your local store.
- 1 1/2 c mozzarella cheese grated
- Make the 4 Ingredient Pizza Dough found on my previous post. The link is found above. While the dough is rising, slice your chicken breasts into bite sized pieces and fry them in the 1 tbs of coconut oil over medium heat, turning a few times to ensure it is completely cooked.
- As the chicken is cooking, mix the olive oil and the minced garlic in a small container ready to paint over the dough. Wash and chop the red pepper, and the red onion. Grate the cheese.
- Preheat the oven to 400*. Once you have spread the dough over the pan and have the crust tucked around the edges, using a pastry brush, paint on the olive oil mixture all over the entire pan of dough, even the crust.
- Next spread the ranch dressing over the center of the pizza, avoiding the edges of crust, just like spreading marinara sauce on a normal pizza.
- Sprinkle the cooked chicken over the ranch dressing. Then sprinkle the veggies, then bacon. Last you will sprinkle the cheese over the entire pizza. Bake at 400* for 11-12 minutes until the crust begins to look golden. Remember you can add more or less of any of the toppings, or add some other combinations your family will love. Enjoy!
I think your sister has made this recipe for me before and I remember loving it! I was so thrilled when I saw it posted here so I can try it myself, and I’m pleasantly surprised at how easy it looks. I’ve always wanted to try a homemade pizza but they all look so intimidating, except this!
But I’m not a huge fan of red peppers or red onions. Any ideas of what other toppings would taste good with chicken and ranch? I’m trying to remember what she put on hers, but it’s been too long. Suggestions?
Yes! We have enjoyed this one several times at family get together. When Meg has made it for me I just remember her putting the chicken and bacon on top. I would say that you could put really anything you like on it – olives, any kind of peppers, tomatoes, etc. I hope you guys enjoy it!
This looks delicious! I’m usually kind of boring and love a good pepperoni pizza or supreme but I love trying new flavors!
A good pepperoni or supreme is always delicious, but this Chicken Bacon Ranch is oh so good! One to add to the others 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Becky!
