See the Happy

Fresh {fruity} Water {agua fresca}

While living as a missionary in California so many of the people we were lucky enough  to meet would invite us into their homes to eat. Seriously. We would be walking by, notice some Hispanic people, say hello and introduce ourselves and the next thing you know we were eating dinner with them. The Latino people are SO kind and generous, one of the things I love about their culture. When you go into their homes the first thing they do is hand you a napkin with something to drink. During the summer months when the people are harvesting the fruit it  is pretty cheap and so one of the signature drinks (besides  a Coke) you are offered is agua fresca.

It is basically any fruit you like (we love strawberry or watermelon at our house) thrown in a blender with some water, lime juice, and a bit of sugar. The Husband loves it when I make it. If I make some and don’t save any for the Little Lady, I find myself in loads of trouble!

One of my favorite meals to make this with is the Chicken Salad  Tostadas. The meal as a whole is incredibly refreshing. Go ahead and try it, I bet you will love it!

See the Happy,
