This Lego Batman Movie Party was one of the best I have thrown in a while. With Pinterest around these days, parties can become downright stressful with all the awesome ideas out there and you think – “oh that wont take too long, lets add it to the list”! I have wanted to scale things down for a while – still showing those I love a good time and lots of fun memories. I think we found the perfect balance and the kids LOVED it!
We had all the cousins over. We first had the kids watch the Lego Batman Movie (I just rented it from Red Box) – and if you haven’t seen it yet you totally should – the husband and I thought it was hilarious and very entertaining!
I got some of the small Lego packages from Walmart that are right around $5 for the kids to build a few things from, they chose a spot, sat down and got to business – and lets be honest, who doesn’t love to create with Legos?
I loved this because at all the parties I have thrown there are always kids who are not interested in the party games – allowing our Master Builders to build, took the stress off of me and they all loved it!
I think buying these little sets got them excited – they had instructions to follow and had a goal set in their minds. This was better than just giving them the tub of Legos for sure!
They felt so accomplished when they finished. This also got their creative juices flowing!
The older kids built the more intricate Batman and Robin Brick Headz – aren’t they cute?
We introduced the kids to this AWESOME Lego Tape – Peel-N-Brick Lego Tape from The BRICK Cave to be exact! It can be purchased on Amazon. I have a little more info on why we loved it HERE.
The kids went to town and honestly played for hours!
The food table was super simple – just the way I like it!
We had some cookies I just picked up at the store -( had I had more time I would have made some of our favorites) that went along with the free printable – this quote came from the Lego Batman Movie and was perfect – you can download the 5×7 HERE for free and print it. I usually just send it to Costco and throw it in a frame. (**Remember, you DON’T have to have a dropbox account, when it asks you to sign up, just click “no thanks” and it will take you right to the free printable.)
Cupcakes are such an easy option – chocolate cupcakes and butter cream frosting for Batman’s colors -we then added these fun super hero cake toppers for a quick option.
One of my favorite decorations of the whole party was utilizing our Lego Tape – the Lego construction workers were holding up the Happy Birthday sign, and some of the super heroes to celebrate too! The Lego Tape made it super easy and super cute!
Rather than ice cream we did a Dole Whip (which is kinda hard to photograph – it melts rather quickly!) – a sweet friend and reader Beki who I met over on Instagram sent me the recipe, and we all loved it! We put it in the small clear plastic cups, and then put that cup inside of these Lego Batman Movie cups we found at Walmart for .88 and all the kids got to take one home.
We also had some Doritos and watermelon slices. After watching the movie my son kept singing the Batman theme so I thought it would be fun to make a free printable of that too found HERE – it was fun to see everyone start singing it as they were picking up their food 🙂
All in all we had a great time, and I did not stress a ton because we kept it simple yet super fun!
What is one of the best tips you have for keeping a party simple?
See the Happy!
Those are the best kind! I love the lego tape and the pennant banner. Those banners make everything so festive!
Thanks so much! The banner decor was my favorite part!
This is a great party idea! My little guy loved the lego movie and really wants to see the lego batman (so does my husband) this is a great theme idea
Thanks so much Charlotte! We had lots of fun – I am sure your family will love it!
I love a good DIY project, especially when it can involves kids. This is such a great idea. And seems simple enough. Pinned for future reference, thanks!
Thanks so much! The kids have had a blast with it Shannon, and so did I !

I hope you can do it for his Birthday Jolleen – we had a blast and it was one of the easiest parties I have done!
You must be the coolest person ever and I know someone who would be happy to hire you as their party planner. My friend loves the lego movies so even as an adult I can imagine that he would get excited about this party idea x
That is so sweet of you Ana! This party was one of the easiest I have done, and the kids had a blast! I am sure your friend would love it too!
Ok, I’ve got to get a hold of that Lego tape! My daughter loves to play with Lego Friends, and she would love to have some of that tape to enhance play time. Love your party ideas! Such a fun looking party. That was a great movie, we just watched it the other night! 🙂
I am sure she would love it! For Amazon Prime day they are offering buy 3 get one free, killer deal for sure!
This looks so fun!! I just watched this movie the other day with my son!
The movie was hilarious for adults and kids alike!
That sounds so much fun! My son loved that movie, he had so much fun watching it. I’ll go tell him about this idea for his birthday. Thanks so much for sharing!
It was a hilarious movie for kids and adults alike! Really, a great birthday theme for sure!
this looks like such a cool idea. I am sure the kids enjoyed making the little lego models. They are so adorable. I may bookmark this party idea for a grown up superhero fan. 🙂
The party looks like it turned out fantastic! We love LEGO Batman. My son is older now, but he still loves the movie. It was the first video game we played together.
I think the movie was perfect for both kids and adults alike – lots of dry humor adults enjoy as well 🙂
We looooved the Lego Movie when it first came out (spaceship! spaceship! spaceship!) so I am sure we’ll love the Lego Batman movie too! We’ve just not had a chance to watch it yet–cute party idea w/printables!
I would have loved attending your party! I’m going to run your idea by my wife. Our kids enjoy theme parties. After our older one watched ‘How to Train Your Dragon’, our house looked like something out of dragon world. Not only did we have a Hiccup themed party, we also used only dragon worksheets(http://www.schoolofdragons.com/how-to-train-your-dragon/science-worksheets/1st-grade) for quite a few months. We missed the movie. After reading your comment, I’m keen on catching up. Thanks for the idea – I’m pretty sure we’re going to have a Lego Batman party!
Sounds like a fun time Sean! Thanks for stopping by!
This is so awesome and will be perfect for my sons birthday! The link for the free printables isn’t showing. Do you have a new link you could attach?
Yay! It’s such a fun theme, I am sure your son will love it! I apologize the links were broken – I have that updated now. You should not have any problems. If you do – just send me an email at thekusilife[at]gmail and I can just email it directly to you! Thanks for stopping by Jena!
We are having a Lego Batman party for my little guy! Thank you for the free printables. Where did you get the batman pendant banner from? Thank you.
Hey Laura! I apologize I did not get back to you sooner. A friend of mine gave me the pendant banner – she bought it at AliExpress. I looked it up and they do have a Lego Batman banner, but it is not exactly the same. I hope you have lots of fun at your party, and thanks for stopping by!
